I don't have any tattoos myself but I must say that I love tattoo art, I am particularly drawn to the vintage ones. I had been mulling around the idea of doing a tattoo cookie design for a while and today I am finally sharing it with you, the inspiration is a vintage rose tattoo.
Here is the video that explains how to make this design.
I couldn't find a place selling the exact cutter I used for this project but I found a similar shape, here is the link if you wish to purchase it: http://stores.ecrandal.com/-strse-804/rose-of-sharon-cookie/Detail.bok
Here is the template for the flowers center royal icing transfers:
I am a little embarrassed to be posting this since Thanksgiving has already past here in Canada, I was too busy enjoying myself and didn't manage to finish in time. Here I am with my family no piping bag in sight lol, we had a wonderful Thanksgiving in the orchards.
Thankfully my American friends still have time to give this project a try.
Today's project is a cookie place card which can be decorated by your guests, along with a giveaway!!
Here is a photo of the completed cookie, I used a maple leaf cutter.
Every little girl should at get a doll cake at least once in their lives, I will share with you the easiest way to create this cake for the special girl in your life. I created a detailed video explaining how to plan for the seamless decorating experience.
If you are a beginner I suggest that you break up the process over a few
days to not get overwhelmed.
Please note that I watched MANY videos in
preparation for mine and the most common hick up I've seen is the skirt
portion of the cake is too short for the doll. In my video I explain the process
from beginning to end so you can avoid this.
Day 1 decorate the doll and make your accent flowers Day 2 bake the cake then wrap and refrigerate (be sure to measure the cake to ensure it is the correct height if not you'll have time to bake more) Day 3 fill the cake and apply a crumb coat to the cake, if working more than a few days in advance it might be preferred to freeze the cake at this point. Day 4 on the day before your party you can assemble the whole cake
Now that you have the general idea here are some tools you might want to purchase.
** In the video I used 1 box of chocolate cake mix, it was enough to make a 6" cake pan and a 6" ball cake pan
